Sammy Gerdano ('10)

Varsity II Co-Head Coach

Sammy Gerdano, Gonzaga class of 2010, played three years of varsity hockey and was a member of the 2010 MAPHL championship team. He graduated from Syracuse University in 2014 with a BS in Information Management & Technology. During college, Sammy played three years for the Syracuse University Men’s Hockey team (ACHA D1). This is Sammy’s third year coaching with the Eagles. Last season he was the JV Head Coach and this year he has moved up as Co-Head Coach of the V2 team.

Ford Lands ('10)

Varsity II Co-Head Coach

Coach Lands was born and raised in the Washington, D.C. area and began playing hockey when he was five years old. A 2010 graduate of Gonzaga College High School, Lands played four years of hockey for the Eagles and was captain of Gonzaga's MAPHL championship team his senior year. Lands also played for the Washington Junior Capitals. He graduated from Plymouth State University in New Hampshire with a degree in biology.

During the 2016-17 season, Ford helped lead the V1 team to the MAPHL championship. This is Ford’s fourth year coaching at Gonzaga. This season he moved up to Co-Head Coach of the V2 team and will continue to assist the V1 team.  


Alex Panzarella ('11)

Varsity II Assistant Coach

Alex Panzarella (‘11) is an alumnus of Gonzaga College High School, where he helped Gonzaga win a MAPHL championship in 2010. During his youth, Alex was a member of the Team Maryland hockey program and later went on to play Junior B hockey for the Washington Junior Capitals. Alex has been working for the past year at Deloitte Consulting in Software Asset Management. This is Alex’s first season coaching with the Gonzaga hockey program.
